Estudio Sahar Company

Founded in 2012 by Lic. Marina Barrionuevo, the Estudio Sahar® Company aims to promote both ethno-identity dances from Arab countries, Iran, and Türkiye, as well as Bellydance, highlighting the cultural diversity that forms part of Argentina’s identity.

HISTORY

Artistic Journey

Its members receive solid theoretical and practical training at Estudio Sahar®, with further development through work with national and international specialists. Since its creation, the Company has maintained sustained activity in festivals, cultural gatherings, and diplomatic events, performing at prominent venues in Buenos Aires such as the Library of the National Congress of Argentina, the National Library of Argentina, the Alliance Française, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Argentina, Manzana de las Luces, the Borges Cultural Center, and MNAO, among others.

It has also been invited on several occasions by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco to represent it through Moroccan dances, and its performances have been featured by Moroccan television channel M24.

In addition, the Company develops the FUNUN Al SHAABIYA project, an educational performance presented annually at the Ethnographic Museum as part of Asia Festival®. This proposal showcases ethno-identity dance repertoires and offers audiences a contextualized historical and cultural perspective on each piece, with the aim of promoting a broader and more rigorous understanding of these traditions within Buenos Aires’ cultural landscape.
